Static Riser Hold Over Fingers

An isometric riser hold with the strap looped over the fingers trains the specific finger-hooked grip used to hold a top-roll rising position, distinct from a standard handle-grip riser hold.

Muscles Worked

Wrist extensors, forearm

Equipment

Riser toolArm-wrestling strap

How to Do It

  1. 1Loop the riser strap over your fingers
  2. 2Raise your knuckles and thumb upward
  3. 3Hold the position under tension

Sets & Reps

3-4 sets · 10-15 seconds hold

Coaching Tips

  • Movement is toward the thumb (radial) side
  • Breathe steadily — don't hold your breath through the hold

Common Mistakes

  • Letting the strap shift to a full-hand grip partway through the hold instead of keeping it anchored over the fingers
  • Skipping standard-grip riser holds first and going straight to this more finger-demanding variation
