Larratt's Lift (Finger Curl) — Over Fingers
This variation loops a weighted strap over just the fingers instead of through the whole hand, isolating finger-flexor strength more narrowly than the standard Larratt's Lift — closer to the exact grip used to cup an opponent's hand.
Muscles Worked
Finger flexors, forearm
Equipment
Arm-wrestling strap
How to Do It
- 1Loop the strap over your fingers only, not the full hand, with the weight hanging below
- 2Curl your fingers to lift the weight, isolating the finger flexors
- 3Lower with control, keeping the strap positioned over the fingers

Coaching Tips
- •Keep the strap over the fingers only — don't let it slip into a full-hand grip
- •Builds the exact finger strength needed to cup an opponent's hand
Common Mistakes
- ✕Letting the strap slide from the fingers into a full-hand grip mid-set, which defeats the isolation this variation is built for
- ✕Using the same weight as the standard version — the narrower finger-only grip is usually harder to control at the same load
