Larratt's Lift (Finger Curl) — Over Fingers

This variation loops a weighted strap over just the fingers instead of through the whole hand, isolating finger-flexor strength more narrowly than the standard Larratt's Lift — closer to the exact grip used to cup an opponent's hand.

Muscles Worked

Finger flexors, forearm

Equipment

Arm-wrestling strap

How to Do It

  1. 1Loop the strap over your fingers only, not the full hand, with the weight hanging below
  2. 2Curl your fingers to lift the weight, isolating the finger flexors
  3. 3Lower with control, keeping the strap positioned over the fingers

Sets & Reps

Coaching Tips

  • Keep the strap over the fingers only — don't let it slip into a full-hand grip
  • Builds the exact finger strength needed to cup an opponent's hand

Common Mistakes

  • Letting the strap slide from the fingers into a full-hand grip mid-set, which defeats the isolation this variation is built for
  • Using the same weight as the standard version — the narrower finger-only grip is usually harder to control at the same load
