Larratt's Lift (Finger Curl)

This finger-curl lift uses a weighted strap looped through the hand rather than a barbell, building raw finger and grip strength for a strong cup — the base exercise the over-fingers variation narrows further.

Muscles Worked

Finger flexors, forearm

Equipment

Arm-wrestling strap

How to Do It

  1. 1Loop the strap through your hand with the weight hanging below
  2. 2Curl your fingers to lift the weight, keeping the wrist stable
  3. 3Lower with control back to the starting position

Sets & Reps

3 sets · 10-15 reps

Coaching Tips

  • Keep the wrist locked and let the fingers do the lifting
  • Builds crucial grip strength for hand control

Common Mistakes

  • Letting the wrist bend or swing instead of keeping it locked while the fingers do the lifting
  • Looping the strap too loosely so it shifts position mid-set instead of staying seated through the hand
