Larratt's Lift (Finger Curl)
This finger-curl lift uses a weighted strap looped through the hand rather than a barbell, building raw finger and grip strength for a strong cup — the base exercise the over-fingers variation narrows further.
Muscles Worked
Finger flexors, forearm
Equipment
Arm-wrestling strap
How to Do It
- 1Loop the strap through your hand with the weight hanging below
- 2Curl your fingers to lift the weight, keeping the wrist stable
- 3Lower with control back to the starting position
Sets & Reps
3 sets · 10-15 reps
Coaching Tips
- •Keep the wrist locked and let the fingers do the lifting
- •Builds crucial grip strength for hand control
Common Mistakes
- ✕Letting the wrist bend or swing instead of keeping it locked while the fingers do the lifting
- ✕Looping the strap too loosely so it shifts position mid-set instead of staying seated through the hand
