BeginnerStatic / IsometricWrist Extensors
Kettlebell Reverse Grip Hold
The kettlebell reverse grip hold trains the wrist extensors isometrically — the same muscle group as a static riser hold, but using a kettlebell instead of specialized riser equipment.
Muscles Worked
Wrist extensors, forearm
Equipment
Kettlebell
How to Do It
- 1Grip the kettlebell handle with your wrist extended
- 2Hold the position without letting the wrist drop
- 3Release slowly
Sets & Reps
3-4 sets · 10-20 seconds hold
Coaching Tips
- •Use lighter weight than a regular grip hold to start
- •Breathe steadily — don't hold your breath through the hold
Common Mistakes
- ✕Letting the wrist drop toward a neutral position instead of holding the genuine extended (reverse-grip) posture
- ✕Skipping this in favor of only flexor-side holds, leaving the extensors undertrained relative to the flexors
