Rice Bucket

Digging, twisting, and gripping through a bucket of rice is a low-load warm-up that moves the wrist and fingers through every direction at once — a quick way to get blood flowing and joints ready before heavier wrist-flexor or pronation work.

Muscles Worked

Equipment

Rice bucket

How to Do It

  1. 1Submerge hand in bucket of rice
  2. 2Perform various movements: circles, opens, closes
  3. 3Continue for 1-2 minutes

Sets & Reps

1-2 sets · 1-2 minutes

Coaching Tips

  • Move in all directions for full warm-up
  • Perfect for pre-workout warm-up

Common Mistakes

  • Treating it as a strength exercise and digging as hard as possible, when its real value is joint mobility and warm-up blood flow
  • Skipping it entirely and going straight into heavy wrist work cold

Consult a qualified coach or medical professional before starting a new training program, especially if you have an existing wrist, elbow, or shoulder injury.
